Put the following ingredients into a bowl and mix well:
- 12 ounces brown flour (whole wheat flour)
- 5 ounces white flour
- 3 1/2 ounces oat bran
- 3 1/2 ounces wheat germ
- 3 1/2 ounces porridge oats (steel-cut oats)
- 2 1/2 ounces brown sugar
- 1 1/2 pints buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon bread soda (sodium bicarbonate)
- 2 eggs
(Optional – decorate with seeds or nuts of choice)
Divide between two 2 pound loaf tins and bake in a pre-heated oven at 350 F
