Apple Walnut Salad with Maple Mustard Salad Dressing

This recipe is a bit unusual and perfect for salads with sweet elements in it. The Dijon mustard comes plain and with little mustard grains in it “the old fashioned way”.  That is a good variety to use in this dressing.  Perfect with the salad in the picture which has leaf lettuce, sliced apples, sliced red onions, and toasted walnuts.  A light winter salad.

Ingredients for the salad dressing:

  1. ½ cup olive oil
  2. ¼ cup white wine vinegar
  3. 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  4. 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  5. ½ teaspoon salt
  6. ½ teaspoon fresh ground pepper

Directions:

Combine all ingredients, place in a container with a top and shake well to combine.
