Oatmeal Bran Muffins

This recipe is from the Quaker Co send-away booklet. I made it for years during the 80’s


  1. ¾ cup milk
  2. ¾ cup all bran cereal
  3. 1 egg
  4. ¼ cup vegetable oil
  5. ¼ cup molasses or honey
  6. ¼ cup brown sugar
  7. 1 cup Quaker Oats
  8. 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  9. 1 tablespoon baking powder
  10. ¼ teaspoon salt
  11. ½ cup of dried fruit and/or nuts

Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees

  1. Prepare muffin tins by greasing them well, or line with paper cups.
  2. Combine milk and bran cereal in medium size bowl.
  3. Add egg, oil, molasses and brown sugar. Mix well.
  4. Add combined dry ingredients careful not to over-mix.
  5. Add dried fruit and/or nuts.
  6. Fill 12 medium-sized muffin cups or 6 large ones.
  7. Bake for 15 minutes for medium or 20 minutes for large.
